The BugZooka works by converting a compressed spring-loaded bellows into a rapid burst of suction that pulls insects into a sealed catch tube — no batteries, no motor, no chemicals required.
Press the accordion-shaped bellows down until it clicks, which stores mechanical energy. Aim the catch tube end within about one inch of the target insect and press the release button — the spring fires, generating suction that draws the bug through the silicone trap doors and into the removable catch tube. The trap doors seal behind the insect, keeping it contained until you decide whether to release or dispose of it. The BugZooka's telescoping tube puts 16.5 inches between your hand and whatever you're catching.
- BugZooka suction mechanism: spring-loaded bellows generates 10x the suction of battery-powered bug vacuums.
- Effective capture range: BugZooka tip must be within approximately 1 inch of the target insect.
- Reach: BugZooka telescoping tube extends 16.5 inches from hand to catch tube tip.
- Trap door material: current BugZooka production uses silicone trap doors, replacing earlier plastic versions.
- Catch tube options: BugZooka includes both a clear and a smoked catch tube for post-capture handling preference.
